Agrapart's Terroirs is produced from only the great sites and is 100% grand cru and the new shipment is a blinder. As always, the fruit comes from four villages in the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Cramant, Oger, and Oiry. The vines average 40 years of age, and Agrapart uses around 40-50% reserve wine. After a natural fermentation, half of the wine is matured in large format, neutral oak and then spends up to 48 months on lees. Dosage is limited to 5g/l and disgorgement is carried out by hand. These standards (like the viticulture) are at least as high as any grands marques prestige cuvée we know of, making this wine an undeniable bargain. Emblematic of the lacy depth and purity that Pascal Agrapart channels into all his wines, this is a wonderfully sexy, textured, pulpy and yet vibrant study of Côtes des Blancs fruit. It is also utterly delicious with layers of stone fruits shot through with saline, chalky freshness.
