Sourced from two vineyards in the Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale. One is owned by the Brini family, the other by the Wait family. Both are old vine vineyards, with the Wait vineyard being dry grown with small berries and intensity and the Brini vineyard showing bright fruit and floral aromatics.
The fruit was hand-picked on the 3rd and 4th of April. Being 60% of the final wine, the Wait vineyard fruit was destemmed and fermented in a 950L concrete egg-shaped vessel. After fermentation was complete the wine underwent extended maceration on skins for five and a half months before pressing and then being returned to the concrete egg for further maturation. Being 40% of the final wine, the Brini fruit was fermented with 100% whole bunches and matured in seasoned French puncheon. The wine was racked and bottled in May 2024.

Huon Hooke – 97 Points - "Medium-depth red-purple hue; the aromas spicy with white-pepper, earthy/undergrowth, black cherry and meaty aromas, a trace of funk adding an extra layer, the palate full bodied and firm with layers of supple, powdery tannins adding structure, length and impact to the concentrated flavour. Beautifully balanced, elegant wine, and already complex. It should reward many years of cellaring." - Huon Hooke, The Real Review
