"The bouquet starts quiet with delicate scents of white flowers and citrus, then as the wine opens up in the glass scents of white peach and lime, mandarin and lime-flower, apple and white spice flourish. Off-dry as the wine touches the palate, though only briefly with a distinctive acid line delivering an immediate contrast and power. A delicious wine that will develop for the next 15 + years, so give it time. In the present however this is a great aperitif expression with a lovely squeeze of citrus and apple, flowers and youthful energy."
Meticulously grown in the stunning Parkburn region of Central Otago. With a lower alcohol of 10%, this exquisite medium-sweet Riesling pays homage to the renowned Spätlese wines of Germany, while showcasing the unique terroir of our cherished Parkburn Vineyard.
Prepare your senses for a harmonious symphony of flavours as the richness of balanced sweetness and the gentle embrace of fine acidity dance upon your palate. Immaculately crafted, this Riesling strikes the perfect equilibrium, showcasing a seamless fusion of indulgent sweetness and crisp vibrancy.
Apricots and mandarin juice dominate the nose of this wine in its youth, and the palate is filled with lively notes of tangerine and lime. The immaculately balanced rich sweetness and fine acidity are brought to completion by a very long and cleansing finish.
Easily enjoyed as an aperitif, or with long lunches, cheese, white meat or delicate seafood dishes, this wine will continue to evolve over the next decade.

Central Otago Wines
Central Otago is a unique wine region for New Zealand as it does not grow any of the country's famous Sauvignon Blanc but also unique globally for being the most southerly commercial wine region in the world. The region is famous for its fruity and full-bodied Pinot Noir with about ¾ of all vineyards in the region growing this grape variety. One of our favourite Pinot Noir regions here at World Wine.
Central Otago is the only region in New Zealand with a truly continental climate, with large daily and seasonal temperature extremes. At 300m in elevation, vineyards are protected from the cold ocean winds by high mountains reaching 3700m. The soils are also different to the rest of the country, with heavy deposits of rough-edged mica and other metamorphic schists in silt loams.
Historically, the subregion of Bannockburn has seen the most success. However, the region has seen significant growth in recent years and other sub regions are also flourishing.
