A blend of Grenache 80%, Mourvèdre 10% & Syrah 10%. Aged in large foudres and terracotta amphora for 18 months.
Located 350 meters above sea level, Clos Derriere Vielle was acquired by Yves Gras in 1994. After a lot of hard work, Yves restored the narrow terraced vineyards. Each grape variety was planted on a terrace to meet its demand for water: Syrah in damp soils, Mourvèdre in stony ones and Grenache in transitional zones. On the limestone soils of the Cretaceous, the wine develops a fine bouquet of fresh fruits and delicate, floral notes, supported by mineral freshness and fine tannins.
The Clos Derrière Vieille (behind the old village hospices) is naturally fenced by woods. Very slow ripening of the grapes: shadowed on the morning, bathed by the sun until sunset.
