The King's Wood Shiraz is one of the premium, small batch releases in the excellent Yangarra portfolio. One of the best portions of the Yangarra vineyard was selected for this wine. There were 25% whole bunches used in the ferment, the fruit hand-picked and carefully double-sorted for quality control before being hand-plunged and left to rest in a huge oak cask before bottling. Oak is well and truly in the background here, a mere player in the overall symphony of this spectacular wine. Winemaker Peter Fraser and team highlighting the quality and vibrancy of their fruit as the hero in this wine. This is a pristine example of McLaren Vale Shiraz at its absolute best. Poised, polished and powerful, it's a beautiful wine with a long life ahead.
