The Nero d'Avola and Frappato vines for the Contessa Costanza wine grow in the Poggio Di Bortolone vineyards near Ragusa in southeastern Sicily at an altitude of between 220 and 270 m. The winery's production philosophy limits the number of grapes per vine in order to produce wines from to produce the highest quality.
The grapes were harvested, sorted and destemmed by hand, followed by fermentation on the skins in stainless steel tanks for 10 days. The wine was aged in tanks for 24 months before bottling.
Color: light red.
Aroma: With intoxicating aromas of blueberries, currants and cherries.
Taste: Rich flavor combines with a fresh acidity to deliver a wine that has good structure and a lingering fruity finish.
