Ferrous tannins drive this concentrated Pahi Pinot Noir. This old world style of pinot noir will continue to develop for up to 10 years.

The Wine Front – Grown on the Pahi vineyard, Princess St, Martinborough. 28 year old vines. 30% new oak. 50% whole bunch. Press release says this is the last Pahi, with a 30 year relationship closing with the passing of the vineyard owner. Dark cherry, liquorice root, liberal spice, a dried flower perfume, some vanilla too. Medium bodied, dense and minerally tannin, a little roast meat and dried herb, beautiful dark fruit, precise and clean acidity, and a perfumed, dried herb strewn finish of superb length. A wonderful swansong.
