The Wine Front – Blackberry, dark cherry, mocha and mint/menthol, biscuit spices too. It’s full-bodied, kind of juicy in dark cherry and blackcurrant flavour, stony and gravelly tannin, some pencil and tobacco flavours, fresh and cool, with mocha and raspberry to close. A fair bit of chew and grip to those, though also quite minty, but it delivers Napa character at a pretty fair price. In short, I like it. 92+ - Gary Walsh ,1 June 2022
James Suckling – points “Love the aromas of currants, sweet tobacco, lead pencil, and hints of redwood. Medium to full body with beautifully integrated tannins that are polished and rened. Fresh and nicely balanced. A beauty.”
Decanter – Sourced from valley floor and mountain sites, winemaker emeritus Ted Edwards describes this as a ‘handprint of Napa’, touching most of the appellations. A 'tried-and-true' Cabernet Sauvignon (87%), it is not overly aromatic but offers refined dusty black cherry and graphite aromas, pretty flavours more in the red spectrum of cherry, strawberry and pomegranate, and finishes with a blood orange and rhubarb note tinged with tobacco. The mid-palate has a nice crushed-stone quality, and the tannins are firm and elongated. 27 June 2022

Our 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is our interpretation of a quintessentially classic style. The color is deep garnet and the nose yields aromas of dark chocolate, pomegranate, cedar shavings, blackberry, and leather. The palate exhibits flavors of blueberry compote, black cherry, espresso, and cigar box with bright and juicy fruit forward sensations. The texture is rich and bold with well-structured tannins that make it approachable now and will yield great results in the cellar for decades. Aging potential in a proper cellar is 15 years or more.

Wines from Napa Valley

One of the world's most highly regarded regions for wine production as well as tourism. The Napa Valley started to bring worldwide recognition to California’s winemaking abilities after finding success in the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976. Both a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon were submitted which bested several famous French labels in a blind tasting. These results cemented Napa’s reputation for being able to produce wines equal to that in quality of the very best from the Old World.
In red wines, Cabernet Sauvignon dominates Napa Valley today, covering half the land and commanding the highest prices per ton. Straight Napa Cabernet is one of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, a marvellous addition to any wine collection or cellar. With such high-quality Cabernet production, many winemakers also focus on creating fine Bordeaux blends. Other notable red wine varietals produced in the Napa include: Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel and Cabernet Franc.
The most prominent whites from the Napa are Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
