World Wine – 'Big, ripe, complex, mouth-filling Chardonnay with ripe peach, citrus, hazelnut, brioche and spicy oak flavours. A generously proportioned wine that's rich and textural with a lingering finish. Delicious now but with potential. Drink: 2020-2023' 95 POINTS Bob Campbell, therealreview.com

The Wine Front – The oak is noticeable and the quality of the fruit that goes hand in hand too. There’s weight and concentration here. White peach and nougat, light and cool vanilla curd, pithy texture, with grapefruit and lemon juice. It concludes with minty freshness, creamy cashews and a lovely acidic lift to the end of flavours that mostly sit in the mid-palate.

The Wine Front – The legacy continues for this premier rendition of the variety. Biodynamic farmed. Softer than expected, a bit plush, not untoward in that way but has some bandwidth to it. Lots of green mango, tonic water, kohlrabi, fig and fennel here. Good scents, good flavours, lots of the latter and a supple finish. Round and smooth. A medium weight white that does the variety great justice.
James Halliday – The first grüner veltliner planted in Australia, and, as such, the first of many. It has a touch of varietal white pepper and a counterbalance of elegantly rounded stone fruit. Also an early mover in using biodynamic principles.

Huon Hooke – Light, bright, slightly fuller yellow than expected at this age and the bouquet reveals why: it's had some wood maturation. Buttered-toast starting to appear. The palate is commensurately rich and soft, full and dry, while retaining its finesse. The finish is very long and resonant. A superb wine in its style, which is not classic Aussie riesling by a long shot. (This spent a year in neutral barrels and had no SO2 until bottling) The Real Review, 9 July, 2022
or $25.33 in any mix of 12 bottles.
Wine Enthusiast – Despite being Yalumba's entry-level Viognier, this is one of its most delicious white offerings. Highly aromatic, it wafts a perfume of honeysuckle, orchard blossom and fuzzy peach skin. The palate is more viscous than the nose implies, but there's enough acidity to keep it fresh. Peach and lemon flavors linger on the finish. Drink with Thai curry or a similarly bold Southeast Asian dish. CHRISTINA PICKARD

James Halliday – Halliday Wine Companion I must admit, I have a soft spot for off-dry riesling. Disclaimer: I'm a Kiwi and a fan of German wines so this makes sense, but I've always enjoyed the Prima. Those fresh lime and crunchy apple notes are there, sluiced with soft spice and heady blossom notes, but I love the dance between sweetness and acid, the tension, and the tempering effect of the acidity on the perception of sweetness. It's about balance and the Prima gets it right, especially in the impressive 2021 vintage. Dave Brookes

Wine Enthusiast – A subtle whiff of crushed citrus foliage sets a tone of aromatic, lifted freshness. The concentration and depth of the freshness on the bone-dry palate carries these aromatic notions in a bold, linear and powerful package. Freshness lets the citrus fruit shine, a real triumph in a hot vintage.
