“Elegance” is probably the first word that comes to mind when faced with the De Ferrari Corradi family and the wines they produce. The 2021 Prugnolo is no different: graceful and graceful on the nose, with aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and vanilla and pepper, it is very tasty in the mouth, without being excessive. A vegetal soul holds the central sip, while on the side it develops freshness and flavor with a cherry flavour. It is truly pleasant to savor, this association between Mammolo and Prugnolo Gentile, a variety of Sangiovese which gives its name to the wine: it comes from the youngest vines in the cellar, ferments in steel and then matures for a few months in vitrified concrete. The other vineyards produce grapes dedicated to the 6 Nobile labels, three Igt Rossi and one Vinsanto: in total 22 hectares which originated from Egidio Corradi's passion for the childhood wine he remembered. International broker, who lived between Genoa and Milan, but born to an ancient family from Montepulciano, in 1962 he returned home and bought two farms which his daughter Paola and her husband Ippolito De Ferrari transformed into the current winery. In the 1980s Paola took over the company following the premature death of her husband, while her children were studying in Genoa (Luca, Political Science; Nicolò, Architecture), but it didn't take long before they both decided to return home, to continue - together with his mother and the memory of his father - his grandfather's dream.

Wines of Tuscany
Tuscany, or Toscana in Italian, is one of the most iconic Italian regions for wine, scenery, and history. Located in central Italy along the west coast, its production of Sangiovese wines is world renowned. Some of Italy’s most famous subregions for Sangiovese such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano can be found here.
Tuscany makes both simple and top tier, age worthy Sangiovese wines. At entry-level you have a wine that is pizza and pasta friendly with bright and juicy red fruit. On the other hand, the highest quality representations of Sangiovese are remarkably complex with flavours ranging from sour cherry, balsamic, dried herbs and leather to fresh earth, dried flowers, anise and tobacco.
In evidence of the quality produced, Tuscany produces the third highest volume of DOC and DOCG quality wines in Italy, only trailing Piedmont, and Veneto. DOC and DOCG wines are the highest designation for Italian wines, while you will often see the IGT classification used to represent wines from Toscana that do not reach the standards for DOC/G.
There is another unofficial class of Tuscan wines called Super Tuscans which also command high prices. These wines are often made from international wine varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, with or without Sangiovese.
