Chateau de Parnay Saumur Champigny 1er vin rouge 2016

Located along the Loire River on the most reputable clay and limestone terroir of Saumur-Champigny appellation, Château de Parnay has been producing outstanding wines for more than two centuries. Drawing their strength from the authenticity of their values, they now cultivate 50 hectares of vines with the aim of producing exceptional wines in a way that respects the environment. They have been certified organic since 2013 and are about to be certified biodynamic too.

Beautifully intense shine of colour reveals gleaming garnets tones, perfectly evoking the wonderfully ripe grapes that have been satiated by an almost Mediterranean sun. The nose is powerful and smooth; raspberry and strawberry compote provides sweetness to combine with the toasted aromas of liquorice and a touch of leather, bringing a rich complexity of great depth. The delicate tannin structure of the wine attacks and envelops the palate with generosity. Throughout, the palette of aromas gives a lengthy aromatic sensation to the nose and a delicate touch of strawberry fruit jellies with a sensual sweetness... To finish, the tannins bring gentle depth.
