James Suckling – This shows intense power, yet it’s channeled and restrained and combines structure and layering with a subtle touch to the complex aromas that include dark berries, dark plums, cocoa, bark, earth, smoke and baking spices. It's full-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Driven and textural with a long, focused finish. Drink from 2030. James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com – Apr 2025
Decanter – Relatively pale this year. It shows a floral expression of violets, and in the mouth it’s light-bodied, fresh and with good acidity. The tannins are much friendlier than La Landonne, it's quite a light and gentle Côte Blonde this year, but the balance is good even if the concentration is fairly light. This will drink well young. It saw four weeks in tank, 18 months in oak, using limited new oak, natural yeasts, and as many stems as possible. The only single-vineyard bottlings in 2021 will be La Landonne and Côte Blonde - and that's if they are not eventually blended into Ampodium. Matt Walles, Decanter – Oct 2022

"The 2021 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne unfurls with prominent black olive, pencil shavings, cured meat, raspberry and wood spice. Fragrant orange blossom and violet nuances add a floral lift. Ripe and firm yet remarkably polished tannins provide solid structure. Showing more energy and ambition than La Mouline and La Turque, the 2021 La Landonne is a medium-bodied Côte-Rôtie with scope and concentration."
Côte-Rôtie « La Landonne » completes this famous trilogy. An immense and pure wine with intense flavours and deep colour, this is the perfect wine for ageing. The treasures are born in the very heart of the most legendary of the illustrious plots of the Maison Guigal. These precious bottles are as coveted as they are rare and have benefited from extreme care at every stage of the process, from the vine to the cellars. They are the sole incarnation of the inspiration and inheritance of centuries of viticulture in an exceptional terroir.
