James Halliday – From Mount Barker, and includes 4% shiraz, open-fermented whole berries, 13-38 days on skins, matured for 20 months in French oak (35% new). Fresh, juicy fruits jump around on the medium-bodied palate, tannins allied with acidity making their mark on the finish and aftertaste. James Halliday Wine Companion 2021, 1 August, 2020
World Wine – Beautiful complexity, generosity and length of cassis fruit with good use of sweet oak to balance and has a tight acid spine.
Huon Hooke – Deep red/purple colour, with an intense bouquet of typical cabernet leafy, earthy, oliveaceous aromas, and a bit of tomato bush. The wine is a trifle raw and callow, almost cabernet essence, the tannins edgy and the flavours a bit unresolved. It needs time and has the makings of a fine bottle. The Real Review, 18 March, 2020
