Bright mid-yellow colour with a herbal, pineapple, tropical aroma, some fresh herbs including basil. The palate is intense, medium-bodied, soft and round, gentle and ample, a very smart wine with a strong front-of-mouth impact but also good length. - Huon Hooke Youthful pale straw, green edge. Lifted aromatics of guava and fig, some struck match reduction, complex and mouth watering. Shadowfax' sixth release of this single-site Midhill Chardonnay shows the quality of the vineyard and the warmth of the season. This is a very concentrated wine, with stone fruit, fig and pear flavours enhanced with texture from extended time on lees. A full and rich expression of Chardonnay from Midhill.
