93 POINTS - Wine Orbit, Sam Kim
"Offering gorgeous fruit purity and poise, the wine shows Black Doris plum, blueberry, subtle spice and floral aromas on the nose, followed by a fruit-forward palate delivering fleshy texture and polished tannins. Beautifully harmonious and lingering with a silky finish. At its best: now to 2029." 28 February 2021
93 POINTS - The Real Review, Ralph Kyte-Powell
"Purple-tinged, ruby-red in colour, this is very fragrant with aromas of berry pastille, liqueur cherry chocolates, spice, and a savoury hint of reduction. A round and succulent middleweight mouthful follows, ripe in sustained flavour and tangy with mouth-watering acidity. The tannins are soft and easy. Lovely balance. Very good." 27 March 2022
The wine is intensely aromatic with a bouquet of wild red berries and black pepper along with cinnamon and plums. The palate is rich, displaying fruits such as blackberry and cherry complementing the spicy backbone of liquorice and chocolate. A hint of savouriness gives the wine an extra layer of complexity with good tight acidity and smooth velvety tannins.

Adelaide Hills

The Adelaide Hills is one of the largest geographical wine regions in Australia, and amongst the most diverse in terms of climate, soil and topography. Because of this, many different varietals are planted here with the most dominant being Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. It is generally thought of as a cooler region, especially when compared to neighbouring Barossa to the north and Mclaren vale and Langhorne Creek to the south.
NZ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has been popular in Australia for a while now, but Adelaide hills Sauvignon Blanc (the most planted grape in the region) could be considered the Aussie Savvy Blanc. From www.adelaidehillswine.com.au about their Sauvignon Blanc: “Wines that are textured, edgy, vibrant and dry with exceptional fruit definition, length and crispness that marry superbly with summer seafood.”
You can also find some cool climate shiraz from the Adelaide hills, defying the more common big bold style that is usually seen in Australian Shiraz.
