About This Wine
Valdesil's two Mencía wines make up a very small proportion of the Bodega's production. The red vineyards comprise old bush vines planted on the south-facing slate slopes around the high-altitude village of O Moullón (in the mountainous eastern limits of Valdeorras). The rocky soils, high altitude and cooling Atlantic weather patterns here sculpt juicy, racy, tangy, cherry scented, light to medium bodied reds - and that's exactly what we have here. The first of Valdesil's reds - the vibrant, mouth-watering Valderroa Mencía 2016 - delivers all these Galician vinous attractions, plus change from a small fist full of dollars.
