About this Wine

From the inaugural cropping at Mundulla's Wirrega Vineyard, it is a wine we feel has done justice to this wonderful grape.

Hailing from the sun-drenched slopes of Campania in Italy's south, and often with ocean aspect. The first cropping from Mundulla's Wirrega Vineyard has shown immediate fondness to its unique climate in the Limestone Coast. The warm days, cool oceanic evenings and clay based terra rossa soils all provide an ideal setting for generously ripe fruit that retains plenty of natural acidity.

The first vintage saw the fruit handpicked & whole bunch pressed, with one third of the juice filling small format conditioned oak for fermentation. After three months rest on lees, it was blended back to the stainless steel component for a further three months before bottle.

Aromas are a varietal medley of jasmine, apple & orange blossom. The palate begins with a generous coating of ripe pineapple with layered complexities of roasted almond & more orange peel. Hints of fennel & lavender add intrigue as it tapers long with delicate bath salt minerality.
