Dandelion Vineyards Red Queen of the Eden Valley Shiraz 2020 Gift Box
Black-purple colour, dense and determined. Mulberry, boysenberry, and dark concentrated plums. Heightened Eden Valley aromatics of fresh green herbs, white pepper and violets in flower. Unending wafts of savoury, dark, wild forest berries. A subtle bouquet slips in almost unnoticed: mushrooms, forest floor, bay leaf, tapenade and pastrami. Silky yet savoury, sumptuous yet slightly stoic and stern, as it sails so smoothly from shore to shore. Concentrated Shiraz berry flavours so deep and deft. Pings of cooler minty, blackberry fruit sing sotto voce in the background. White pepper, liqueur chocolate, and all so textural courtesy of miniature, super-fine tannins - indeed puffs of tannic texture dry out the palate’s long, lingering end.
