Eye-catching purple-violet and black in colour. Heightened and lifted plummy Shiraz. Aromatically in a glass. Blueberry and blackberry; eucalyptus, cherry and star anise. With just 6% Riesling in the blend, can one detect the aromatics of this most aromatic white grape? Yes, and no. But its contribution is in that lifted and captivating smell. One would notice it not because it is there, but if it were not there. Pertness and lightness! This is red wine that glides across your palate. Once it does, you all too quickly have another sip, and then the wine starts to unfold: texture, grip, tannin, a gentle fruit weight and a subtle fruit depth. At palate’s end there is a friendly chewiness and a muted robustness, reminding you of Shiraz's wonderful warmth and appeal. And perked up by that dash of Riesling...
