The wine displays fresh green tinges to a very pale straw colour. Typical cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon aromas of lively tropical fruits and fresh herbaceous grassy characters make up an intense bouquet. The palate is fresh and lively with classic Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon characters and a fine structure that are an indication both of the quality of the vintage and of the use of only free-run juice.

James Halliday – Winemaker Michael Kerrigan always sends an informative note: this his sentimentally favourite off 50-year-old vines with ’23 representing the 17th vintage. The gist is to make it 'minerally rather than fruity, lemony rather than tropical and with a real acid pith', and that has been achieved. Savoury, complex, textural, tight, and if anything, a bit more fruit weight wouldn’t go astray.
