About this Wine

Fruit was sourced from Red Hill sub region, hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed to French oak (2nd use), wild-fermented, no stirring but left on gross lees for additional texture, no mlf, matured for 12 months. No fining and minimal addition of sulphur prior to bottling.

Pink grapefruit, lemon peel and showing some fennel seed characters on the nose. It’s a fairly tight palate with more of the citrus fruits showing on the palate, tangy, fresh and chalky, with some pithy bitterness, and a long firm finish offering plenty of zing. While there are layers of flavour and a depth to this Chardonnay, it doesn’t come across as too big/much and in my humble option it's just right. - Cornelis Ribbe

Mornington Peninsula Wines

South of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula grape growing region has a cool, maritime climate that is most known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production. Other varieties that have seen some success here include Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.

However, it does seem that Pinot Noir is their focus judging from the fact that The Mornington Peninsula International Pinot Noir Celebration is held once every two years. The event displays the region’s capabilities in making some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir in front of local and international audiences.
