James Halliday – Put this on the dinner table, not in the cellar. Though it’ll hang out well for a few years, this is made to enjoy now. The dark fruit, the spices, the earthy fragrance and the whiff of autumn plus red licorice are enticing. A fuller body, refreshing acidity and decent tannins are all part of the appeal. - Jane Faulkner, 24 April 2023

Perfumed, fragrant aromas are dominated by cherry and dark berry fruits complemented by a touch of spice and underlying French oak. The long, silky palate has a lovely elegance and velvety texture, with concentrated red fruit flavours and a finely poised finish.
Whole bunch ferments and matured in used French puncheons. If there’s a better value entry pinot noir I haven’t met up with it. An utterly delicious tapestry of red and purple fruits sewn through a fine web of tannins, the finish long and convincing. Drink to: 2029

Mornington Peninsula Wines
South of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula grape growing region has a cool, maritime climate that is most known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production. Other varieties that have seen some success here include Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.
However, it does seem that Pinot Noir is their focus judging from the fact that The Mornington Peninsula International Pinot Noir Celebration is held once every two years. The event displays the region’s capabilities in making some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir in front of local and international audiences.
