About This Wine
When he states "[Albino Rocca's] Rosso di Rocca is one of the most stylish, racy Piedmont wines in its price range," Antonio Galloni takes the words right out of our mouths! Well, he could have said it's the most stylish, but let's focus on the positives.
2017 is a fragrant and seductive year for this yummy Piedmonte bottling. It’s a delightful, punchy blend of perfumed, savoury Nebbiolo (80%), juicy Barbera (10%) and fragrant Cabernet Franc (10%), each parcel fermented separately in tank before blending. Once again this is outstanding and also a terrific value Piedmontese red. It leaps out the glass with lifted grenadine fruit and violet top notes. The palate is bright and pulsing with energy – open with just a nip of tannin. In a word, terrific, and a great intro to the Nebbiolo wines of Piedmonte.
