The Centre Block is the oldest of the Shiraz Blocks having been planted in 1969. Soils in Centre Block are deep, red sandy clay loams providing large bunches and large berries. This wine is the 4th single block release and displays great elegance with fine tannins. Only 320 cases made!

James Halliday – and-picked fruit was given a 2-day cold soak and then femented in open vats with 20% whole bunches and 25% whole berries, 24 days on skins. Matured for 12 months in French barriques and puncheons (30% new). A shiraz rich in Central Victorian charm and honest flavours of its terroir. Buoyant aromas of blackberry, mint, bitter chocolate and earth. Beautifully integrated, everything in its place, with a smooth ride to the finish. – Jeni Port
