About this Wine

Vintage 2023 was similar to Vintage 2022, with a later than usual start. The impact of the La Nina weather pattern resulted in very modest yields, due to the lower bunch and berry sizes. The upside is that this lower quantity has resulted in excellent quality across all wine styles. This limited release dessert wine – made from equal parts of the extremely rare German Schönburger grape and Riesling from our ‘Old Vine’ block planted in 1974 – shows delicious aromas of lime marmalade, poached nectarine and crystallised ginger. The palate is smooth and elegant, with lime sorbet, lemon shortbread and grapefruit granita flavours matched with a clean and refreshing finish. Well balanced, this versatile dessert wine can match soft cheeses or decadent desserts with equal aplomb!

Tasmanian Wine

The Tasmanian wine region is a cool climate region, the most southerly of all wine regions in Australia. Due to the lower temperatures, the area grows primarily Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, with smaller plantings of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon.
