The Genesis Syrah is the beating heart of Castagna—an uncompromising expression of Beechworth terroir shaped by biodynamics, granitic soils and a deep respect for tradition. Wild-fermented with a portion of whole bunches and aged in fine French oak, it is a wine of power, precision and soulful complexity.
Dark cherry, blackberry and mulberry form the aromatic core, threaded with layers of black pepper, crushed herbs, violets and a whisper of charcuterie. The palate is savoury and structured, with fine, earthy tannins and beautifully integrated oak. There's both gravitas and finesse here—a wine that speaks of place, purpose, and the quiet intensity of its maker’s vision. A benchmark cool-climate Syrah with exceptional ageing potential.
