Certified Organic this was wine was aged in French oak barriques for 12 months of which 20% were new. Dense black as night heart with a deep dark red black shaded hue. Pronounced ripe black cherry and liquorice aromas are trailed by some smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, black olives, scorched earth and peppered dried herb notes. Rich and boldly structured the palate is loaded with aniseed and ripe black cherry flavours. Notions of blackberry, scorched earth, dried herbs, black olives and peppered meat nuances lurk underneath. Imparting a chewy mouthfeel is a sturdy framework of tannins. Finishes long and showy yet solidly built.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
