Sancerre, the most famous wine from the Loire Valley allows Sauvignon Blanc to express great aromatic purity and remarkable balance. This is a fresh and fruity wine with a hint of flint and minerality on the finish. Works well with seafood and smoked fish, poultry and as an apéritif.
Anthony Girard, an endearing and energetic young winemaker, started his own production in 2012 after completing his training at the family estate. Attached to its Sancerre roots, he set up in Récy, a hamlet in the south of the appellation and took on 8.5 hectares on excellent soils. Two thirds of these are composed of ''caillotes''(Sancerre limestones), bringing freshness and fruitiness to its wine and a third of flint for power and minerality.
Anthony leads the estate with rigorous work in the vineyard in respect of the soil and the environment to harvest grapes in full maturity, bursting with fruit. Precision is key in the winery. The vinification is carried out masterfully and allows to express sauvignons of great aromatic purity and a remarkable balance.
