About This Wine
Named in honour of the 11th century Persian poet, booze hound and mathematician (Omar Khayyam), this bottling comes entirely from the domaine's highland terroir that littered with rolled 'galet' stones
The blend is based on Grenache, with some 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. The 2016 is a wine pulsating with ravishing flavours of raspberry, black cherry, violets, bay leaf, white pepper and anise, framed by the vivacity of high country freshness. One third of the fruit was aged in foudre, on lees, bringing a seductive velvety texture to the fresh, perky fruit, which has been brilliantly captured by early bottling.
