Narkoojee Reserve Isaac Shiraz 2021
The fruit for this wine is hand-picked from our estate plantings. The wine is named after Val and Harry Friend’s first grandson Isaac Friend. The great 2021 season has produced an excellent cool climate style shiraz with an intense palate of blackberry fruit, with obvious black pepper on the nose and spicey French oak. Fermented by wild yeasts, this is a lovely shiraz, which will repay cellaring for ten years or more.
Tasting Notes Colour: Dense and vibrant blackberry Bouquet: Blackberry with black olive, black pepper, cinnamon and cedary French oak Flavour: Blackberry with black olive, a touch of licorice, earth and spicy French oak Texture: Fine tannins and good acidity carry through to a long, beautifully balanced finish Alcohol: 14.0%
