About This Wine
Shows lovely fruit, distinctive acidity and the typical minerality of Etna wines. Located on one of Europe's highest volcanoes in Solicchiata, Etna, Pietradolce is all about the terroir. With vineyards on the northern slopes, the volcanic soil and distinct mineral components and microclimate - with intense day/night temperature swings - give Pietradolce's wines extraordinary richness, minerality, fragrance and depth. Pairs well with fresh cheeses, grilled vegetables, and pizza.
The Wine Front – Has a distinct and crisp green top note, like freshly cut lettuce, a little honey, ripe lemon and barely ripe apricot. It’s light, with a subtle creaminess, and invigorating minerally acidity through its core along with juicy lime and cool lettuce flavour. The finish is precise and long. There’s the taste of ash in the aftertaste too, real or imagined. Not to be served too cold, or you lose the some of the nuance of this fascinating wine. Also, last but not least, it’s very easy to smash down.
