About This Wine
Braucol is a variety more commonly known in the southwest of France as Fer Servadou (or Mansois in Marcillac). This wine is naturally fermented and aged in cement tank for just six months before being bottled without fining or filtration. It's bright as a button with loads of vibrant, red fruited, jubey aromas and flavours and a crunchy, juicy fresh personality in the mouth. "Du glouglou pour le printemps," (for glugging in the springtime) says Robert Plageoles, father of Florent and Romain Plageoles. Bloody delicious and great value summer drinking is what we say. 2016 is a stonking release for this wine. Think of a bright Pinot or Beaujolais with some stems and you'll be coming close in style. But of course, it has its own irresistible personality that reflects both a unique grape and its unique terroir.
