Very pale-yellow straw in appearance. Lifted and aromatic on the nose, with white nectarine fruit and lemon curd notes supported by subtle spicy oak. The palate is textured and complex showing lemon meringue richness and some hazelnut creaminess.
The Chardonnay is a tight and racy number. Picked on the earlier side to retain freshness and drive, this single vineyard in Coal River produces fruit with impressive concentration.
Sam has a keen eye for structure, complexity and judiciously applied high-quality oak. Her Chardonnay is poised for a long life in the cellar or a short time on the table in front of a plate of freshly caught shellfish.
This is a lovely, pristine, premium Tasmanian Chardonnay, beautifully judged by Sam.
