This is a remarkable dry grown vineyard located in the heartland of Clare Valley Riesling territory. This dry Riesling shows concentrated punchy stone fruit flavour with succulent and mouthwatering acidity. The hand picked fruit from the 1954 planted Churinga vineyard Riesling, is my twelth release from this site. With lifted citrus spice and juicy fruit flavour, this wine displays all of the concentrated fruit flavour that Watervale is renowned for.

The Wine Front – Musky, perfumed with lavender and lilac, gin and tonic with a slice of lemon, lime leaf. It’s tight, gently bitter with a quinine tonic-like tang, and refreshing in that way, a little saline/savoury/earthy, fine chalk dust texture, distinctly stony, lime rind and sizzling acidity to close, though the texture in this wine is something that offers a little extra, with a spicy Japanese ginger character on a long and zesty finish. Really good. Intense!
James Halliday – From a dry-grown vineyard planted in 1973. Peglidis is a name that sits comfortably alongside those of top sites from anywhere in Clare Valley. This is precise and racy, scintillating even, so intense it's almost breathtaking in its piercing zing across the palate. Scents are lime on green apple, fragrant talc, frangipani and grapefruit pith, flavours similar with a rapier-like thrust through the mouth. Brilliant, crystalline expression with so much freshness and vitality on its side. This drinks with vigour and a high-refreshment factor now, but will mellow gracefully over a very, very long time. A top-quality marque.
