About this Wine

The Field of the Isle Porquerolles Rosé is a great wine from the Côtes de Provence.

The Domaine de l'Ile Porquerolles is located, as its name suggests, on the island of Porquerolles, opposite Hyères in the South of France. To give a little history, it was in 1910 that François -Joseph Fournier, a multi-faceted man in his life, acquires the entire island. He will also make it a wedding present to his wife, Sylvia. In 1957, this gem of the land was shared between their four daughters. Three of them will then quickly decide to resell their shares, which allowed the State to recover a large part of Porquerolles. Only Leila Fournier decided to keep her heritage in order to plant vines there again. His son, Sébastien Le Ber, will inherit it thereafter and continue to develop this emblematic vineyard of the island.

It was in 2019, after a full life, that he decided to entrust this heritage to the house of Chanel, already owner of Château Canon , Rauzan Ségla , or even Berliquet in the Bordeaux region.

Today the vineyard is located in the plains of Notre-Dame and Brégançonnet, where any culture (vine or olive tree) is protected from the attack of the sea and the scorching winds. Its terroir, unique and promising, is made up of shale coated with clay. The Domaine de l'Ile Porquerolles vineyard currently represents a little over thirty hectares. Today, the result is magnificent white and rosé wines in Côtes de Provence.

Selected with a lot of thought, the Mediterranean grape varieties are present on the estate: grenache, mourvèdre, cinsault, syrah, tibouren or finally rolle are the delight of Domaine de l'Ile Porquerolles.

In tasting, the Domaine de l'Ile Porquerolles Rosé 2019 offers us first notes of barley sugar which are seductive. A gluttony counterbalanced by the crystalline tone which illuminates the composition. We taste a juicy and thirst-quenching melon, fresh fruit picked from the tree. Vaporous and delicate, a white flower further complicates the aromatic. In the mouth, the wine reveals its volume and its salty touch. An airy and lively rosé, suggesting the light and tranquility of the island.

Blend: 28% Grenache, 24% Syrah, 21% Cinsault 16% Mourvèdre, 11% Tibouren.
