Allen Meadows – There is plenty of sauvignon blanc character present on the airy, cool and attractively fresh nose. Once again there is fine volume and concentration to the punchy and beautifully delineated middle weight flavors that deliver fine persistence on the clean, dry, linear and mildly austere finale. This will need a couple of years of bottle age to round out but it should be lovely.
About This Wine
Sauvignon Blanc. Goisot's second, smaller volume Sauvignon hails from a single parcel of 1.3 hectares on Barrois limestone (a Portlandian-era limestone with large amounts of pebbles and silty clays). The Moury cuvée is a more peppery, spicy nose than the '15 Exogera Virgula which is a question of vintage as much as anything. Again, you find a far fleshier texture than you may expect of the varietal yet there also steely acidity and, with air, the wine becomes more and more saline, textured and mineral. There's grapefruit/mixed ripe citrus, crushed herbs and a delicious, chalky intensity. Vinified in tank only, on its lees and native yeasts.
