"Quartz colour with green hues. A core of white peach and honeydew fruit with lemon butter, savoury chicken stock and a curious note of Fruit Tingles. This is a wine of breadth, weight and generosity. It feels glossy and polished with juicy white peach fruit yet lively with zippy lemon acidity. There’s a slate-like mineral feel and chewy mid-palate structure."

Mornington Peninsula Wines
South of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula grape growing region has a cool, maritime climate that is most known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production. Other varieties that have seen some success here include Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.
However, it does seem that Pinot Noir is their focus judging from the fact that The Mornington Peninsula International Pinot Noir Celebration is held once every two years. The event displays the region’s capabilities in making some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir in front of local and international audiences.

The Wine Front – "Montalto makes impeccable wines. It’s a producer you can rely on. This release is cherried and strawberried, as a base, though tomato leaf, cedarwood, sweet spice and undergrowth characters all play roles. There’s plenty going on here but it is, all the same, a wine built on structure. Juicy, strawberried, integrated acidity races throughout. Tannin, which comes across as twigs rolled in velvet, is a key feature too, though not at the expense of the fruit’s momentum. I’d give it a few years but this wine will develop into something excellent.” – Campbell Mattinson
