About This Wine
Over the past decade Yabby Lake has built a reputation for producing some of the finest examples of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay made on the Mornington Peninsula. Led by the highly credentialed winemaker Tom Carson, Yabby Lake's philosophy is to craft wines that speak of their site and their season in which they were grown.
This 2019 Yabby Lake Single Vineyard Chardonnay offers pristine, pure and intense aromas with classic notes of citrus blossom and grapefruit pith. The palate is fine and complex, with great poise and concentration of flavour. Tightly wound together with a precise minerality, the wine has beautiful line and length - another top class Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay from Yabby Lake.
Mornington Peninsula Wines
South of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula grape growing region has a cool, maritime climate that is most known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production. Other varieties that have seen some success here include Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.
However, it does seem that Pinot Noir is their focus judging from the fact that The Mornington Peninsula International Pinot Noir Celebration is held once every two years. The event displays the region’s capabilities in making some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir in front of local and international audiences.
