A bright, juicy novello-style red crafted to capture the pure vibrancy of the vintage. The fruit comes from select sites across Tasmania’s North West, Coal River and Derwent Valleys, picked between 11.5–12.5 baumé for freshness and energy.
This unconventional blend brings together Pinot Noir (25%), Dornfelder (20%), Syrah (20%), Baco Noir (20%) and Tempranillo (15%) in a creative, layered ferment. Starting with Baco Noir and Tempranillo berries, Syrah was added nine days later, followed by whole-bunch Pinot Noir for a carbonic lift. Dornfelder was the final addition at pressing.
Vinified outside any traditional textbook, the wine was pressed to tank to finish primary and malolactic fermentation, then racked and bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no added sulphur. The result is a lively, fruit-forward red bursting with red cherry, black plum and violet notes, wrapped in soft tannins and a juicy, fresh finish—perfect for chilling slightly and enjoying young.

Tasmanian Wine

The Tasmanian wine region is a cool climate region, the most southerly of all wine regions in Australia. Due to the lower temperatures, the area grows primarily Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, with smaller plantings of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon.

While Tasmania makes great still wines, the exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir also make for excellent sparkling wines.
More recent vintages since 2005 have been positively impacted by the effects of global warming. With slightly higher temperatures the grapes are ensured to ripen fully and produce more vibrant wine.
