Sourced from the esteemed Mort's Block vineyard in Watervale, Clare Valley, this exceptional wine is crafted only in select years, utilizing a unique cane-cutting technique to naturally concentrate residual sugars. This method is reserved for particularly special years when the ripening season is cooler and extended, allowing for greater control and ensuring the highest quality. Once the grapes reach the desired concentration and flavor complexity, they are meticulously handpicked, with any lesser fruit discarded on the vine.
The wine exhibits a mid golden straw hue with subtle green tints and a brilliant, clear appearance. The nose is distinguished, offering aromas of candied fig, fresh lime juice, and glacé fruits, complemented by evolving toastiness. On the palate, it is richly layered and luscious, yet beautifully balanced by its natural acidity. Flavors of ripe fig, squeezed limes, and honey flow seamlessly, further enhanced by a developing toasty character. This dessert-style wine epitomizes elegance and depth.

James Halliday – It's rich and round, satiny and soft, lush with its crème brûlée and custard characters, bright with preserved lemon and candied lime elements. Decidedly sweet but bolstered with cool, green apple acidity – balance is good, albeit this is a decadent and lush expression. Not particularly complex, but all the elements work here.
