About this Wine

The first wine made by Quealy was this field blend Pobblebonk (in 2006). The inspiration was Jermann Vintage Tunina (Please google this ground breaking winery located in Gorizia, Italy), whom Kat & Kevin revisited in 2006 after Kev's pilgrimage there in 1995. The Field blend is designed to create balance, complexity and interest by elevating the great characters of each grape variety. The frogs on Pobblebonk label illustrates our decision to nurture & regenerate our farm's environment all those years ago. Quealy's winery vineyard is now certified organic.

Mornington Peninsula Wines

South of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula grape growing region has a cool, maritime climate that is most known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production. Other varieties that have seen some success here include Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.

However, it does seem that Pinot Noir is their focus judging from the fact that The Mornington Peninsula International Pinot Noir Celebration is held once every two years. The event displays the region’s capabilities in making some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir in front of local and international audiences.
