Critic reviews

The Wine Front – Scorpo always delivers a lot of flavour in his Chardonnay, and there’s no change here. Don’t mind me, but this smells like lime jelly (which I like), nectarine, orange oil, aniseed and light spice. It’s juicy, but also kind of savoury too, with salted pistachio and miso, bright tangy acidity, firm chalky texture, and a robust but energetic finish of excellent length.

Vintage Vigilant

We aim to have all wines above $30 be vintage specific. In the case the listed vintage is out of stock and you note you would like that particular vintage, we will inform you via email for approval to go ahead.

About this Wine

A wonderful 2023 vintage thrived in the cooler months, making for lots of primary fruits of
lemons, limes, grapefruits and nectarine. The fruits were grown on old volcanic soils from
Scorpo’s Merricks North vineyard. There is salty creaminess from the lees and lovely barrel
spice.

Mornington Peninsula Wines

South of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula grape growing region has a cool, maritime climate that is most known for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production. Other varieties that have seen some success here include Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.

However, it does seem that Pinot Noir is their focus judging from the fact that The Mornington Peninsula International Pinot Noir Celebration is held once every two years. The event displays the region’s capabilities in making some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noir in front of local and international audiences.
