About this Wine

One of Tasmania’s pound for pound (or dollar for dollar) best value to quality Pinot Noir’s? You’d suggest it would have a fighting chance to be in the conversation. Such a great expression of Southern Tasmanian Pinot Noir, sourced from growers they have established long term relationships with, perhaps poetically one could even describe them as symbiotic enabling them to produce this superb regional wine.

Fruit from vineyards in the Coal River (15%) and Derwent (75%) Valleys the North West (8%) and Channel (2%). Predominantly whole berry, 8% whole bunch, natural yeast, held on skins for 16-21 days. Pressed directly to and matured in oak (6% new). Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasmanian Wine

The Tasmanian wine region is a cool climate region, the most southerly of all wine regions in Australia. Due to the lower temperatures, the area grows primarily Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, with smaller plantings of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon.

More recent vintages since 2005 have been positively impacted by the effects of global warming. With slightly higher temperatures the grapes are ensured to ripen fully and produce more vibrant wine.
